Nervous stomach - Aloe helps

I lost a son to Chrohn's Disease. When he was diagnosed, they told him that he was going to die. They basically prescribed a purified form of aspirin for inflammation = take two aspirins and call me in the morning! He was determined, and turned to holistic medicine. I had used licorice root for years. Liquid Aloe was suggested by my uncle and helped. The first year, my son used liquid Aloe Vera and Licorice Root, old Native medicines, to coat his stomach and allow him to eat through the pain while we searched for different doctors with different medicines. Pretty much all of it is based on the old medicines anyway. He went to Blue Heron Academy where he learned enough about holistic medicine and Chinese teas to heal up his 70+ ulcers. He found a doctor willing to try the newest treatments and they kept him alive for nine more years. The original medicines from the doctors caused other complications and allergic reactions that forced him to stop using them. He went back to the aloe and licorice root, which helped him again. When they legalized pot, that eased his pain even more, but the aloe and licorice were still his main staples. Family members still use these old medicines to help settle their stomachs. I can't say that it will help everyone, and some are allergic to aloe, but these old "cures" still prove reliable for us.
